Makeup Brushes

Today, I wanted to write about makeup brushes. I am in serious need of updating my makeup kit and know that I will have to purchase some new makeup brushes.
When I first started building my kit....it was all about MAC makeup for me. And while they do have a good assortment of brushes, I realize that there are MANY more companies that carry great alternatives.

I obviously love blogging about all things beauty, and would love to hear what other makeup lovers have or want for their kits. So.....what makeup brushes are you currently obsessed with? Please leave a comment below and let me know!

Weddings and stuff....

I don't know if I have ever posted about weddings here at Stells and Co, so I thought I should!
Thanks to the ever amazing site Pinterest, we can all peruse online for hours searching for the perfect dress, ring, bouquet etc.

I'm not getting married any time soon, but I thought that I would share some amazing sites I've found along the way.....

Check out the super cool site East Side Bride. Obsessed.

The excitement I feel when looking through the vintage rings at Trumpet and Horn is beyond something I'd even care to admit. I LOVE this company. Check them out.

Catbird is another really cool website. I feel that in the very near future... I will be purchasing some non- wedding jewelery from them!

Jannie Baltzer has such beautiful wedding hair pieces. So pretty.

How beautiful is model Cara Delevinge?I love her trademark full brows. Cara was named the BFA's Model of the Year in Fall 2012, and I can totally see why. Her sister Poppy is a model as well. I guess good looks run in the family!!

Golden Globes best dressed

Oh its that time of year again.......with all the award shows, leading up to the Oscars. The Golden Globes honor the best in TV and film. All the A Lister's attended, dressed to the nines! I have to say that, I loved every minute of it!

Here are some of my faves:

The hosts of course! Tina and Amy looked great and were super funny.

The good looking cast of Les Miserable. Rumour has it that Anne Hathaway is pregnant, so I guess time will tell!

Claire Danes in Versace. One month after giving birth! ONE month people......

I love Downton Abbey! So, I was super thrilled to see actress Michelle Dockery a gorgeous dress by Alexandre Vauthier. I haven't heard of this particular designer before, lets see if he's on the red carpets in years to come. This dress was one of my absolute favourites.

Jennifer Lawrence in a coral red Dior gown. Tiny waist and beautiful shoulders....love it!

Kate Hudson killed it in this Alexander McQueen dress. My other fave of the evening!

OK, so Hit or Miss

There is no doubt that Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz make a sexy couple. However, I feel that I would love this look even more without the chiffon hem. What do you think? Was this Louis Vuitton dress a Hit? Or a Miss?

Worst dressed:

Jessica Chastain is a beautiful women. This was NOT a good look for her! The dress was ill-fitting and her hair was awful. I was surprised that the dress was a Calvin Klein.

I'm off to Paris in less than a week......I just can't believe it! It has always been a dream of mine to see Paris, with all its romance and fashion.
Speaking of fashion, a friend recommended two stores in Paris that I must check out. The first one is "Naf Naf" and the other is "Kookai".

What I particularly love about this grouping, is their diverse looks with hair colour. Haunting midnight violets, bright reds and coppers, along with soft rose and antique golds. So many beautiful colours. Even if you didn't want to do the entire look, you could do a few slices of one of these many hues.....just to add a bit of drama to your look.

Next time that you are looking for a thank you and/or Hostess gift....or simply wanting to treat yourself to something that smells heavenly, make sure to check out Baylis and Harding.

Baylis and Harding can be found mainly at Walmart. Made in England, this product line carries a beautiful assortment of lotions, hand washes and shower gels.....not to mention luxurious bath foams.
I was lucky enough to try the Lavender and Lilac hand wash and lotion, as well as, the Sweet Mandarin foam bath and shower gel.

Royal Bouquet (Lavender and Lilac), smells amazing. Like a little touch of the English countryside. I am a big fan of Lavender and its relaxing properties, so naturally I loved this line. I found the hand lotion very moisturising, which will be great come fall/winter.

The Sweet Mandarin and Grapefruit line I found (at first) quite surprising. I expected to smell a strong overpowering citrus scent..... but instead I experienced a softer, creamer mandarin and grapefruit scent. Actually, quite divine! The foam bath is quite luxurious and I can't wait until my next evening bath with this line.

I went to see them in concert last week and was simply blown away. Her voice live was BRILLIANT!!!!! Not to mention that Florence had great stage presence and killer fashion sense. If you ever get a chance to see her in person, you really must!

Simons Home Decor- curatins and couettes

I really need some new curtains for my living room, but I've had no time to shop around lately. I've been so busy working at the salon.
So, (from the comfort of my own living room) I went on one of my favourite Canadian shopping websites, Simons. I just had to see what type of curtains they had in stock.

I simply love these sheer grey ones called, "Diaphanous".

But I think that I will be purchasing these sheer grey check ones. They are exactly what I am looking for......and so reasonable at $14.99

I love that lamp in the picture too!

Once I was on the Simons website, I could help but look at other sections. Another item I'd really like for my bedroom is a new couette (french for duvet). They have several different styles at various price points. One I'd really like to get is the "Angelique" for $149.95. It looks so soft and comfortable.

I really would like everything in this nautical inspired duvet cover and pillows. Anyone who knows me, knows that love anything nautical! How fun is this picture? It makes me want to go on vacation!!!

I love that I can not only shop for fabulous clothes at Simons but for great home decor pieces as well! I've made online purchases from Simons in the past, and they've always had really fast and reliable shipping....always a plus when ordering online.

How amazing is this clothing line based out of Australia? Black Milk makes tons of super cool leggings, skirts, dresses, and swimwear. Basically, anything out of nylon, that can be made into items that are super tight and sexy!

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I have a total girl crush on Florence Welch. I'm borderline obsessed with her hair......her fringe, the colour, the soft wave...I love everything about it!
Florence graces the cover of Harpers Bazaar (UK) July 2012. I'm very eager to get my hands on this magazine! Though unfortunately being in Canada, it will take me a while to get my hands on this edition.

I love Topshop....frankly, who doesn't? I've been looking through their website, and here are some of my favourite pieces for Spring 2012.

I love this racer back tee!

High waisted shorts on the right body type look amazing!

I'm really seeing a lot of these "dipped hem" maxi's around. This colour combination is hot for spring/summer!
