Fashion Magazine's Male Cover

I'm sure that many of you by now have seen the gorgeous cover of February's "Fashion" magazine. It features the very beautiful MALE model Andrej Pejic. I've written about Andrej before, because I simply can't get over how very beautiful his androgynous look really is.

Now, check out how amazing his nail polish is in this picture. Love it, want it!

Two new products that I'm loving right now....

As a beauty product addict ,I love to experience as many lines as possible. Whether its makeup, nail or haircare I'm always looking for new products to test and review.  Two such products that I'm into right now, are "MesmorEyes" False lashes, and Nutra Nail "Smudge Repair".

Mesmoreyes are hand knotted false eyelashes, that are light weight and feathered for a natural look. What I particularly like, is that each Mesmoreyes package, has step-by-step visual instructions on the back, for an easy application. I love that they have made them really simple to apply. Not to mention, that I found them lightweight and easy to remove. Big bonus, because I hate ripping lashes off my eyes.

The other product is Nutra Nail "Smudge Repair". Now this I was especially excited to try. I am the Queen of smudging my nail polish, so there isn't a better suited product for me. It also really works! This product is designed to literally brush away smudged, smeared or dented polish. I found it really easy to use. I just brushed it over my polish "booboo" until it was smooth again. I found that the key is, is to use the Nutra Nail "Smudge Repair" will the nail is still wet.  For larger smudges, use a small drop of colour over the dent and brush the smudge repair over the entire nail until smooth.

Both of these products can be found at http://www.farleyco.ca/

Holiday Nails

This post is for all the ladies that like to get their nails done around the holidays. Now, red is the obvious go to colour for the season....but I wanted to show you some alternatives, that are equally as festive.

What do you think? Would you wear any of these looks for Holiday parties?

UK beauty goodies...

So, I been back from Glasgow for about a week now...but once you're back at work, vacations seem like lifetime ago.
I didn't make it to Superdrug, (tear) but I did end up in Boots....so this is what I picked up.

First off, I do have a slight nail polish "obsession"....so I was thrilled to see that "Models Own" have their own nail polish collection. I love this line....I picked up the red colour for my good friend Cocamia, and the other two for myself. I have yet to try the black "shatter" effect. (That will be my next manicure). Very excited.
Ok, so I'm a big fan of dry shampoo. Especially "Batiste". I tell my clients (who wash their hair everyday) to purchase this. That being said, I have only seen two scents of Batiste in Canada...original (love) and tropical (not so much). I was beyond thrilled to see other scents such as "boho" and "diva". The larger bottle is dry shampoo with a hint of colour. There wasn't one for redheads, so I picked up the brunette.

I also picked up a lip colour from No7. This is from their collaboration with lipstick guru Poppy King. it goes on pretty sheer which I love...I wish that I had bought more!
Thanks to all the UK beauty bloggers for your suggestions...they came in very handy!

White, Coral and Floral...

There's three things in fashion that let me know that Summer is around the corner:  White, Coral and Floral.

Even though I don't wear a ton of white, coral or floral...it still makes me happy to see them in the stores and on the streets. When done well, they can really look amazing!

Not to mention that Coral is the hottest nail colour of the season!

After a long Canadian winter, I find them really refreshing!

eyeshadows and nails

I recently purchased a 15 shade colour palette from BH cosmetics. (I had never tried anything from them before, but I knew the were popular for their eyeshadow palettes, with like 100 colours on them).

What I LOVED about this 15 colour palette is that you can pick your own shades and textures. I took my time trying to find the perfect combo for me. (Looking back, I did pick too many browns though).

When I received the palette however, I felt that I a few shades weren't true to the colour online. (I know that this may be hard to do, but I did feel a little let down). I really like the consistency of their matte shadows. I found the shimmery ones a little too flaky.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the palette for BH cosmetics. The palette itself is pretty sturdy, and I think that it will take me a while before I finish each shade.  Again, I really liked the concept of choosing your own colours. I would love to hear peoples feedback on BH cosmetics, because I've never had any of their products until now.

I also wanted to show you another look that I did with my nails. I wanted something understated, with a little "rock'n'roll".

What do you think? It's a little "Gwen Stefani", non?
I keep my nails pretty short for work, so this would look better on slightly longer nails....but you get the idea.

Multiple Nail Colours....Love it or hate it??

I tried something new the other day, went a little wild with the nail colours. My friend who's an esthetician told me that more and more of her clients are asking for something new and "fun" and love the idea of multiple polish colours on their nails.
Here's what she did on me.
Two of the colours are from Essie's latest collection:
-the blue is "coat azure"
-lavender is "nice is nice"
-green (not from the new collection) is "mint candy apple"

Personally, I thought that this look was really fun for the weekend....but by the end of it I felt like my nails looked like Easter eggs. Would like to try this look with different colours.
What do you think? Love it or hate it? Let me know...

Essie Winter Collection.

I have to say that I just LOVE Essie's new Winter nail polish collection.
The colours are bang on for what's hot this season. I don't usually go "ga-ga" over nail polishes, but  I think that I will be purchasing almost all of this collection! The swatch of "smokin hot", does not do it justice. Very nice grey....which is hot for fall. Luxedo is beautiful too!
Essie, (in my opinion) used to be really boring..... but they seem to have come a long way. Especially with their last couple of collections. The product is of  high quality too! What do you think? Do you like Essie or OPI better?

YSL inspired nails....

Inspired by the YSL nail images above (LOVE them) , I decided to re-create the look on myself. The colour combinations for this look are endless.... however, I decided to use two of my favourite nail polishes from this season.

The first colour is "turquoise and caicos", by Essie. I used this for the tips. The second colour is "gunmetal" by Joe Fresh.

I love the way these two colours look together!

Would look even better if my nails were a bit longer, but I like to keep them fairly short for work.
Even so, my nails were a big hit at the "resort chic" work party that I attended yesterday.
What do you think?

Retail therapy needed

Holiday Hair madness is in full force at the salon. It's the busiest time of the year, with everyone wanting to look their best.
Even though I've been working longer hours and coming in on  my days off , I've really enjoyed it. Until today. Everything that could go possibly wrong did, and by the end of my shift, I was completely exhausted and pretty bummed out.
I realized that I'm in need of some retail therapy. I will be going to Sephora on my next day off (Monday) and purchasing these lovely items.... I feel better just thinking about it!!!!

Illamasqua's now at Sephora? So excited. Love this hot pink nail colour.

Kat Von D's eye shadow palette in True Love. I haven't tried anything from her line yet. Hope it's good.
What have you bought for yourself lately?
