Lucian Matis- Toronto Fashion Week

So, with work being crazy busy, I'm pretty behind on blogging about Toronto Fashion Week. My favourite collection (by far) was Lucian Matis. I loved everything about this collection. Here are some pics, so you can see for yourself. Canada's not just about fur and plaid!!!  :)
Love the contouring of the cheeks!

How cute is Lucian? Ummm, hot!

Spring Trend #5

The Birkin Bang

"Bangs", "Fringe".....whatever you want to call them, the "Birken" style bang is super hot right know! A lot of my clients are asking for this look, so I thought that I would share this with all of you!
To achieve this look, your stylist should cut them heavy, leaving them slightly longer on the sides, and kept below the eyebrows.
(Yes, that's right, your stylist ladies....I can't even count the amount of crooked/whacked out looking bangs that I've had to fix because someone has taken matters into their own hands.  Please do not attempt cutting this look yourself at home)
Keep your layers (in the rest of the cut) long and not too choppy. There is a certain amount of heaviness to this look. This cut is all about having sexy movement and a "flow" to the hair.
So, what do you think? Are you ready for the "Birken"?

Spring hair trend #4- Messy Natural Waves

4. Messy Natural Waves

When I say messy, I don't mean that you can walk around with crazy "bedhead" and still be in style; I just mean that it doesn't have to be so "perfect" looking. Think about what your hair would be like on a sunny day at the beach. The wind would move it around a bit and the salt water would give it some texture. We could all use a day at the beach right about now, so let's inspire mother nature with our hair. Two great products for this look are Aveda's Volumizing Tonic and Pure Abundance Hair Potion.

Kate Hudson is one of the celebs that LOVES this look! It really does look amazing on her.

Will you be wearing your hair all sexy and beachy this spring?

Spring Hair Trend #2- The Low Bun!

2. The Low Bun

This is a super easy and elegant way to wear your hair this Spring. There was two main (low bun) looks on the runways this year. Super sleek/tight, or playful and loose. I prefer the playful and loose. It's easier to do and doesn't look too ridged. You can also twist the hair or braid in ribbon with this look. Start with a ponytail. Twist the hair into a bun and pin with large bobby pins. It's that simple!

I love the image of the first picture, were the hairs been crimped for added texture!

Spring Hair trend #1- The Big Blowout

1.The Big Blowout

That 1970's voluminous curl is back, baby...and WOW does it ever look good. It's time to dust off your hot rollers and bring out your wide barrel curling irons for this one. If done correctly, a good curl set can last you a couple of days.....so it's worth putting in the energy on day 1. You will need a good brushable aerosal hairspray. I like Aveda's "Air Control" for setting. Divide hair into small sections and spray each one before putting on the roller, let the rollers cool and comb out with a wide tooth styling comb.

Multiple Nail Colours....Love it or hate it??

I tried something new the other day, went a little wild with the nail colours. My friend who's an esthetician told me that more and more of her clients are asking for something new and "fun" and love the idea of multiple polish colours on their nails.
Here's what she did on me.
Two of the colours are from Essie's latest collection:
-the blue is "coat azure"
-lavender is "nice is nice"
-green (not from the new collection) is "mint candy apple"

Personally, I thought that this look was really fun for the weekend....but by the end of it I felt like my nails looked like Easter eggs. Would like to try this look with different colours.
What do you think? Love it or hate it? Let me know...

Burberry trench coat 2011

Nobody does a Trench Coat quite like BURBERRY. They have pretty much cornered the high-end market. Here's some latest styles from their spring and resort 2011 collections.

I know that the leather one is not a trench coat.... but want to add it, because I love it!

Love the studs on everything!

Emily Watson

Here's a recent pic of Emily Watson, modelling for the fair-trade clothing company,"Free People".
It seems that Emily has been a fan of "Free People" for a while, because this isn't the first time she has modelled for them.
Like the "biker" feel and the fact that she seems to be keeping her short hair!

Dior 2011

Love the sailor inspired hair and makeup at the latest Dior show.  Love the nautical feel, and the intense red on the eyes. Also, loving the Dior Men's 2011 collection. So much BLACK! I love all the layering of black....soo dark and sexy.
