100 followers giveaway!!!

As I promised....when "Stells and Co" reached 100 followers, I would host a giveaway! Yeah!!!

So, I'm very excited to see that we have now reached 100 followers and even more excited to launch my first giveaway to my viewers.
I had to do something with one of my favourite hair products (being a hairstylist and all), so giving away a "Batiste" dry shampoo package seemed quite fitting.

Here's the package: 3 travel size Batiste dry shampoos in various scents...and  a little surprise!

Here's what to do: Post a comment below with your first name and email address...as well as your hair colour. (You don't have to go in great detail with the colour...blond, light brown, dark brown etc will suffice).

I will then do a random draw on the contest closing date of Sunday October 9th.
If for example, I pick the number 2, the second comment listed below will win. I will then notify you by email and send you the gift pack.  (Please note: that the travel sizes will not necessarily be the scents in the picture above).

thanks for following Stells and Co.

Good Luck!

Batiste Dry Shampoo

If you've been reading StellsandCo for a while now, you may know of my obsession with Batiste Dry Shampoo.  I've been using the original Batiste for well over a year now, and I was so pleased to see that more of the other scents are making their way into Canada!

So far Shoppers Drug Mart carries the "Original", "Tropical" and "Blush" scents. Other scents like:  "Diva" and "Boho" and tones such as :Dark Brown, Blonde, Medium Brown are available online at http://www.farleyco.ca/

I was eager to try the "Blush" scent since it;s the only one (at Shoppers DM) that I have yet to try. I LOVE the soft, powdery, subtle floral scent that is "Blush". (The "Tropical" one was a little strong for me personally, great for people who love fruity scents). I will definitely be buying the "Blush" scent once I run out of this one!

The "Boho" scent is stronger than the "Blush" but for me it is something I would use when I'm going out on the weekends and what that fun, musky, sweet scent. Love it!

I also have the "Medium Brown" tone Batiste. I love that you can now purchase this line that has a hint of colour. While this product is AMAZING for brunettes, I wish that they had one for Redheads, so I could get the full effect.

Stellsandco really recommends Batiste for people who are trying not to wash their hair everyday, need a little volume or want to prolong their blowout. Because really, who wants to be blow drying their hair everyday in this heat?

UK beauty goodies...

So, I been back from Glasgow for about a week now...but once you're back at work, vacations seem like lifetime ago.
I didn't make it to Superdrug, (tear) but I did end up in Boots....so this is what I picked up.

First off, I do have a slight nail polish "obsession"....so I was thrilled to see that "Models Own" have their own nail polish collection. I love this line....I picked up the red colour for my good friend Cocamia, and the other two for myself. I have yet to try the black "shatter" effect. (That will be my next manicure). Very excited.
Ok, so I'm a big fan of dry shampoo. Especially "Batiste". I tell my clients (who wash their hair everyday) to purchase this. That being said, I have only seen two scents of Batiste in Canada...original (love) and tropical (not so much). I was beyond thrilled to see other scents such as "boho" and "diva". The larger bottle is dry shampoo with a hint of colour. There wasn't one for redheads, so I picked up the brunette.

I also picked up a lip colour from No7. This is from their collaboration with lipstick guru Poppy King. it goes on pretty sheer which I love...I wish that I had bought more!
Thanks to all the UK beauty bloggers for your suggestions...they came in very handy!

Dry Shampoo for Curly Hair

Everyone seems to be a fan of "dry shampoos" these days. But really? Who can blame them? As stylists, we tell our clients not to wash their hair everyday..... especially if it is colour treated. It's really hard for a lot of women not to wash their hair everyday, if that's what they're used to. Enter, dry shampoos.
I recently became excited when I was in the drugstore and noticed a "waterless foam shampoo" for curly hair. Finally I thought, something that I could scrunch in that would re-activate the curl, and take out the grease and build-up. Not to mention, at drugstore prices too!

I have to say that I do like "Tresseme's waterless foam shampoo" for curly hair. It has a nice citrus scent and is formulated with witch hazel and aloe vera, to keep the hair clean and soft. They also have a spray shampoo for straighter hair.

Another dry shampoo that was recommended to me was "Batiste". Now, the drugstore by my house doesn't carry it, so I will be on the look out for this product.

The packaging looks a little 80's, but I have co-workers that swear by the stuff. What dry shampoo's do you swear by?

S.
